The GATT rate for March came out yesterday. If you wanted to lock in this rate your earliest retirement date would be May 1st.
The rate you get is the two months back from your retirement date - May 1st retirement date gets the March GATT rate.
That means your last day worked would have to be April 30th.
BUT, the retirement center states that they need 5 full working days notice to process your request.
You have to notify them by April 23rd to be sure to catch the 5 day notice.
So if you are waiting to see the new GATT rate to decide if you will retire - you have from April 13 to April 23rd.
10 days.
Also means you would only be able to give 2 weeks (plus 4 days) notice to your manager.
